Derwent Trekkers walk 27th November 2014

Photos and details of our walk on Thursday 27th Nov 2014.
27 walkers on a dull misty morning. Calm and not cold. Some muddy places, but that is to be expected in late November. 1.96 miles in 1hr and 6 mins.
Addendum by PeterB.
"Thanks to Terry for leading today's walk on the Trent & Mersey Canal, the
towpath having seen a lot more rain since our visit a few weeks earlier.
Also thanks to John Swan for his gps trace (attached) and thanks to Ron
for taking us across the new London Road bridge only 40 minutes after the opening."

The first photos are by PeterB.

This photo by Peter was taken as our coach used the new London Road bridge in Derby. We were (Derwent Trekkers in a Glovers coach)possibly the first public transport vehicle to traverse the bridge.
This board walk was probably made to avoid a muddy field, but it was quite slippery to use.

And a few taken by myself:-
The start of the walk at Mercia Marina.
 PeterB taking a short cut.
A different angle on the boardwalk.
Not too sure what Chuck is doing.
Terry, our walk leader, looking a bit engrossed on the canal side.
 Underneath the arches
 Pleased to see your(pun) back
And a rear view of Andy. I am getting good. Remembered his name.
The named jitty where PeterB took a photo of the walkers looking on.
 Some unusual fungi.
Boarding the coach for the next leg to the refreshment stop at Swarkestone Garden Centre.
I cannot see what Chuck is doing again.
And finally, after scanner problems, the trace of our route on this walk.
